copper/tin-iron ratio in trades

Im just curious what the ratio for trade is for these ores. I do 6 copper ore 3 tin ore - 1 iron ore.

So... You get 9 pieces of ore in exchange for one? Or you trade 9 for one? Because either way, something seems wrong here.

6 bronze should be equal to 1 Steel in my opinion.

So 4 copper ore + 2 tin ore = 1 iron ore.

Your ratio is 9 bronze for 1 steel.

IMO any common ore ratio over 2:1 is a rip-off, quality being equal.

Don't trade tin for copper, it can not be fair in any ratio. Fair trade is tin:bronze or copper:bronze by 1:1.
Iron is like bronze, 1:1 or may be 1:1.5 is fair.

Steel is different story as lots and lots of hand-work involved.

i'd stab anyone offering me those rates. seems reasonable to me bronze:iron shouldn't exceed 1.5:1 imo

why not just trade tin:copper 1:1 then?

tin seems the most common metal, from my experience in this world and last world. trade rate for tin:copper should be between 1.5:1 and 1:1. you could possibly get 2:1 if someone with tin is desperate for copper. soft metals are not really very useful.
