Half-claimed house?

Can someone tell me what it means if only half the land my house is on is claimed(by me)? This is because a friend's claim is also nearby, and I can't expand towards it. The area in front of the door is claimed if it matters.

As long as the door is claimed, people won't be able to go in or take your stuff without permission. However they will be able to use destroy or ram the unclaimed portion without vandalism. Currently most people (if any) won't have the strength for that without a ram, so it's not a huge deal.

Will the inside of the house be fully claimed? For in case I want to let someone in, but not let them take items?

To me it looks like you haven't fully understanded the functions of claims. If you (or whoever owns it) right click it on the menu that pops up there's an option to set what can and can't do each colour group on your kin list. Say for example you're green on your friend's kin list, he can set it so that green peeps have full access to vandalism, theft and tresspassing (you can set each of the three individually for each different colour). In your case, if you want people to come in but not to take your items you'd have to put yes to tesspassing but no to thieving/vandalism.

Also if the door is claimed it means the interior is claimed, no matter how much of the outside part of the house is actually inside the claim.
