How do I harvest bone material from a skeleton?

Postby Onule » Tue Jan 25, 2011 11:38 pm

I recently encountered a skeleton while explorating and tried to obtain bone material from it, didn't find a way to do so.
Can someone help me with this as I need a bone hook/bone saw?

Afaik you can't, it'd be a bit spooky if you could though.

Search for rabbits during daytime on forests. Also if you find a Heath/Moor/Grassland there's a big chance for chickens to spawn there. You need hunting by the way.

Alright, thanks.
Also, is there any way to get food in an easy way? I'm trying to get LP for exploration so I can find some stuff while foraging.

Well food is not particularly hard to find. Assuming you already ran out of bread, you will have to survive through foraging, raiding ant hills and hunting. There is really no big-tricks as to how to find antimals, however it is rumored that they appear more frequently during daytime.

Foraging can get easier with higher perception*exploration. You can eat the Blueberries and Spindly Taproots you find (I recommend the later or else you'll get intelligence too high) as you look for animals to hunt.

Ant hills are really easy. Click raid on the hill and the ants will start chasing you. They are slow though, so walk away some screens and then go back (evading them, of course) and raid the hill again. If you got them far enough you'll have enough time to raid the hill before they arrive. Also they glitch when you enter water and they get to the point where they can't reach you so you can safely walk out and raid the hill without them attacking. Ants give a really good variety of FEPs so I strongly advice them for newbies.

As you forage/hunt/build your settlement and stuff, you'll get enough lp to invest in your attributes to either increase the forageables you spot or to give your products a better quality.

I suggest you read the wikia for more about quality and spending lp.

€: I forgot, you should get fishing if you live close to a lake/river. Fish gives a lot of Intelligence so it's wiser to save them and convine them with another food to get the FEPs you actually want.

What with ancestors and all it seems like this game has more respect for deceased characters than live ones, I doubt they'd add something like that. :)

I thought he meant the skeleton of a hearthling, although that's another posibility.

I do have the hunting skill.
What's so bad about having a high intelligence?

Intelligence is a useless attribute and having it as your highest increases the amount of FEPs you need to increase other attributes.
