how to compile maps together? (ender/gilbertus client)

Postby Vlad99 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 9:04 pm

using the ender client and recently figured out the map function, unfortunately the maps are only good for each play session, you can reload old ones but they stop updating so you can not add to them.

is there a way to add new maps to old ones? or make it so that the character starts drawing maps again where he last left off?

thanks.

It would have proven your point much better and also proven you really do understand how to fight people and not only how to slaughter helpless sheep.

The reason it works this way is because jorb and loftar didn't want us to be able to use our coordinates to figure out exactly where we are at any given time, so they scrambled them all up. Since the mapper cannot place each snapshot it takes based on an overall coordinate system within the game world, it needs to use relative positioning. It makes whatever map you start out on into "0,0" for that session. Then as each new map is added it calculates from there.

If you wanted to, you could manually go through and rename maps you want to add to fit in their proper place with the naming conventions, so that they would all form one large relative coordinate map, but it'd be quite a bit of work. Alternatively you can just take images of each map and combine them in photoshop.
