Extending palisade walls onto cliffs

Is it possible to block cliffs entirely with a palisade extension? I'd like to build next to one but I'd have that annoying green gap for people to walk into which would make the entire wall pointless.

I successfully built my palisade into the higher side of a cliff. I tested it, and it's secure.

Don't try to build normal palisade into the cliff. Make sure the last piece is a cornerpost.

Cliffs that face towards the camera (like ^) can be built all the way into with palisades

Cliffs that face away from the camera (like v) have a one-tile useless gap that looks like it should be buildable on, but isn't. Check with a preliminary palisade construction sign first, if you can't place it, you cant extend there either. Don't make my mistake and end up having to demolish things with a ram.

Ya, did tests and it's not secure but I managed to block it off anyway by unlocking it from the grid. A massive hassle and it's unaligned with everything else but it's safe and that matters more than anything else. Thanks kindly for the advice~
