How to dig clay?

I don't know where to dig it!
I found a couple of spot, ut i digged up only 1 unit per spot!
And I also can't dig clay in shallow water - I mean I can, but I don't get anything!
Can anyone explain what os the problem?

clay is not anywhere at shallow water. if you cant dig anything - go another shallow water and try luck

Clay is in shallow water!

Basically if you get q10, there's a chance there's only one piece.

Afaik, if there's q11+, you're gonna get more clay. If you get q10 and several pieces, chances are, you're near a "Node" of higher quality. Look around to find more, always dig in different areas, and try to find the highest q.

Brown areas on maps are generally good for clay too.

I tried lots of places. I asked villagers around - they have the same problem.
So you have recently digged clay without a problem?
Maybe I need some special skill for that?

Not at all, just sheer luck in location.

Digging in shores, the node is random, and the mudflats are random too.

For example, i have a q14 node, and that does me well, while someone else has a q78 node.

It's all luck.

it's not that I'm searching better clay - I'm searching for ANY clay, any quality - and I can't find it =(

Directly related, higher quality is directly proportionate to higher quantity in this case it would seem.

keep looking, you just had bad luck. I've found one spot with q16 ball clay, 1 spot with q14 red clay, and a q30 spot, all within 5 - 10 minutes going from my place
Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.
