How do I play the game?

Ok. Ok.
I just got here and have zilcho idea how to play! How do I connect to an active server!? I've got no idea. You'd think the would be in one of the active topics or help things or something!

It shouldn't be harder than clicking the "Play" link, really. If you have done that, and that game doesn't start, could you describe what actually happens instead?

Just to check, could it be that you do not have Java installed?

If I click on the play button the only thing that happens is that a download pops up and I can download "autohaven.jnlp".

That's interesting. Maybe your Java installation missed out on associating JNLP files to itself? I must admit that I don't really know how to fix that on Windows apart from reinstalling Java.

If you'd like to, you can try to enter the following command in the "Run" dialog (I assume that you are running Windows):

Just signed up today , and I don't think it's Vista. I'm running XP and encountered the same problem. Running

from command prompt worked just fine though.

And I'm pretty sure I've run JNLP files from my browser before... Hmm. Weird. If It makes any difference, I'm using Firefox.

Hmmm... When I hit Play, it downloads that java file, and I have to run the file from my computer in order to play... I'm assuming that's not the way it's supposed to work. I'm running XP.

That's the way I play it. It works just as great.

I get a jnlp file download as well, which I can then double click and it executes normally.

I actually prefer it that way as now I've just moved that file into my games folder and created a shortcut to it so I don't need to visit the web site before I play

It is worth mentioning that when you use http://www.havenandhearth.com/java/haven.jnlp instead of autohaven (the play button), then Java should install start-menu shortcuts and everything for you, so that you don't have to visit the website every time you want to play.
