Palisade key and death

Postby zensoup » Sat Jan 29, 2011 3:12 am

Hey everyone. I searched the forum quite a bit but didn't find any answers about this..

So I've started building a palisade around my house and i have the following question:
If i get killed by a bear or something while carrying my key it stays with my body right? So if I make a new character and inherit will i own the land but have no way to get in or out?

If it's so what workarounds are there? Obviously i can make a spare and leave it at home but since im pretty much alone it will take me a while to get all the skills + the metal required.

Are there any other ways/tricks to prevent this?

create an alt to hold your key :D

It would have proven your point much better and also proven you really do understand how to fight people and not only how to slaughter helpless sheep.

Before you have access to metal, you really ought to keep the key on an alt. Preferrably on a second account which stands by the gate and exists for no purpose other than to open and close for you to pass. It's a hassle, but it ensures this is a non-issue, and also prevents (if you're smart about it) anybody else from getting access to a key to your walls.

There's no point in building walls if you're going to take your keys outside.
