Stench of Murder!

Postby Mitudev » Sun Jan 30, 2011 8:57 am

If I track some griefer to their Hearth Fire for assaulting an ally of mine—and summon them to gain sweat vengeance—do I in turn create a murder scent? Does it matter if I am on their claim or not?

There was once a bear with crimson hair
He moved faster than Kail could see:
And took his fingers three.

Bah! Thank you for the quick reply. This problematizes my ideal vengeance situation. I guess I should increase my own stealth and intelligence before trying to be a ranger that deals actual justice and not just leaving behind insulting and incriminating runestones.

Just keep your home adequately walled and patrol your walls daily.

vigilantes usually leave a runestone with the reason of execution. It doesnt protect you from his reincarnation or his friends, but usually prevents other rangers from tracking you

Sorry, it was the Stink of Battery. The villain in question knocked my friend out.

I was thinking of placing a runestone on the scent that is left behind. Would that work?

actually, int*stealth isnt that useful. you can just enter and go out of a house to get another chance of revealing the scents.
most rangers dont care for int and sth, as they have good backup as more rangers and a hf in a heartvault (basically hf in any kind of house behind any shape and size of brickwall)
at the actual state of gameworld a palisade should do it too (just dont place your hf outside!)

I also have a vengeance against google bot. I will pay 100 iron bars for google bots dead body!
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
