New player, read the guide on beginning the game, help?

I need a more detailed guide than the one I read on here, Im practically stuck in the middle of no where making axes and baskets to raise LP and getting beat up by animals and such.

Well, I figured out how to make maxes and dig, campfires and such, Im so lost though and out of food, I cant find anything to scavenge or fruit trees, im going to die of starvation soon.

1) Run from boar and bear, don't engage other animals. Except ants. Ants you can raid their hill, walk away a bit, go back to finish raiding the hill, and then walk far enough off that they disengage.
2) Catch chickens or rabbits that you see by standing next to them before right clicking on them. Don't worry about finding them, but if you see them, catch them.
3) Increase your exploration. With an exploration of ~5-10 you will be able to subsist by wandering and picking up anything you see.
3) Go through your "build" and "craft" menus, and find something you would like to have. Make it. If you can't find the raw materials, pick something else. If you don't know how to create the component parts, consult the wiki.
4) If you run out of things you want, buy yourself another skill, and see if it lets you build anything you want.

Personally, the first thing I would work towards is leather. It requires a good number of skills, and will let you make a backpack, which is NICE.

Raided an ant hill, tried to run, they knocked me unconscious, destroyed my shoes, and drained my HP. This sucks.

You must be a very bad runner then.

Craft yourself some new shoes and build up a log cabin. The LP will be enough for 5-10 exploration and you'll start seeing lots of edible stuff you can forage.

if anything fails, try to find another playing who helps you. either by scouting or you look into the dwarves+thiefes forum

By all means, make another one and try again. You'll find that dying is just another aspect of the game. A fresh start, if you will.

It's all trial and error, learn from your mistakes and get better.
