The icons above the minimap?

What is that red-ish circular icon do? The two above the minimap?

I know the white skull one is to show claims, but what does the red one do?
One day I hope to start a village. It shall be called 'Fruit Town'

That "red-ish" looking button is the toggle for village claims. The icon is a banner, if I remember correctly.
