Trapping Foxes

Anytime i try to trap foxes using the signpost trick, by placing 1/5 sticks in a box around the fox. I use a sling to shoot at the fox but the fox breaks a signpost and starts chasing me. is there some other way to trap them?

Trap them with that on a coast and then shoot at them from a boat.

Ya trap him then shoot him from the boat he cant break the signs if hes running . i learned the heard way trapped a dear and it broke the sign and knocked me out

ok , one more question. if you shoot them from a boat enough and they start running, is it safe to get off the boat to chase them?

Thats why u trap them when there up againts the shore (before you shoot them ) but if u dont trap them and they run there usually a little faster then u at run speed

Yes, once they start running they won't re-engage you. (At least not if you continue using ranged, I haven't tried meleeing things other than one-punch downing wounded boar.)

Ya so u can chase them and try punching them (they wont turn around unless healed ) but they do run faster than u

have the 1/5 fires (so he doesn't run) then just take down a sign post one at a time and build a fence, then when your done shoot his ass and he can't break a fence
