IP and combat

Postby kolaz » Fri Feb 04, 2011 7:05 pm

I swear it's my last newbie thread for few days :P

I have 65 melee, 10 UA and 1 agility (bronze armor...). Someday was wandering and meet a deer. He said "hey, kill me". And ofc i wanted to do that. Attacked him and:

I was using dash / opportunity knocks / sting and everything was fine... maybe i had bit to low melee, but after some time deer had battle advantage and I had to run. So... two questions:

1. Dash / sting. Are these moves correct? Or should I use charge / slide / flex for better defense? Or maybe dash / sidestep / sting?

2. My attacks are so slowww, I know its matter of agility but... every move have "weight: UA". So... if I will pump UA my attacks will be faster? Should I pump UA if i want to fiht with melee (i won't use b12)?

Don't let the animals get advantage of you. IIRC deer only get this through actually hitting you, but boars and bears got some nasty moves that grant them advantage. Still, as long as you keep your defence up you should be able to slowly gain advantage yourself. Invocation of Skuld is by far the best move for this. Don't even try stinging before you get decent advantage, and then you should have 10-12 IP, so you can use flex after you sting, and deliver three or four Stings in quick succession so the animal doesn't have time to regenerate it's defence. As you noticed, the cooldown on Sting is very long, so you want to use it sparingly (this goes for all attacks).

Okay, first question done.

But still - does UA makes my attacks (dash etc) faster?

You will execute your moves faster with higher agility, 1 agi will make anyone able to beat you.

What UA does for you, though, is let you regenerate defence and offence faster, with Oak Stance and Bloodlust respectively. There's also Death or Glory for IP, but you have to be a bit more careful with that one. So no, you won't execute individual moves faster, but you will need less moves for same results so the end result is the same.
