I am walled in

Postby Castille » Sat Feb 05, 2011 2:17 am

Hello guys!

New player here, been playing about a week now, great game. I have a small farm out in the forest where i grow alot of crops etc, also a palisade around.
The problem is someone just built a palisade infront of my gate so i can't leave my home anymore, i can't build a ram either because i lack the trees. Is there anything i can do or am i stuck forever and ever? That would be kinda sad acctually because it's a great game.

Yeah. Jorb has a rule against walling people in with their own pallisades.

Rules of Engagement: Gates on Gates

It's not cool to build gates, or wall sections, over open gates to prevent access through said gate. Any such obstacles will be deleted. In fact, lay very low on exploiting the ability to extend gates that aren't yours. Also, I don't really care that much. Please be smart enough to avoid this situation in the first place. Manual maintenance is not something I think of as fun. Claims, people. The Alpha and the Omega. Anyone caught breaking this rule, or otherwise providing me with work I haven't asked for, will suffer one fist of Jorb, regardless of what strength I may have decided to have at the time. Might be 300, might be 5000. You'll know when it hits you.

If you get me real upset... I draw pictures.

Thank you. That is all.

I have stopped doing this. It's too much work. Take care to avoid the situation in the first place.

Not gonna lie, I just felt like how the people of Metropolis would feel if Superman hung up his cape.

You have? Oww, that's too bad. So not much to do then i suppose?
Too be honest i had no idé they could build like this, but i read somewhere i had to seal the cornerpost. Please Jorb, can you maybe make an exception, i really like this game and want too keep on playing my character. I know it's alot of work but it would mean alot to me. But if you don't want too i understand.

Ok so i guess i won't get any help. But i really don't want to quit my character.
Does anyone got any other advice on a possible solution? Can i bash it long enough with my hands? Or someway move my character out from the palisade walls and collect items to build a ram outside, any advice is good. Really don't want to quit this guy, else i might aswell quit the game which i don't want too.

Thanks.

Make sure you:
1. Seal your cornerpost after building a fort.
2. Claim your area.
3. Build a village so you can use crossroads to jump outside without needing a key to exit anymore. Probably build two just in case they decide to barricade around the crossroad as well.

That being said, the situation you are in would require a ram and some decent strength people to break down. Last effort is to break your hearthfire (need 25 str and a stone axe) and random spawn in the wilderness but that will cause you to abandoned your home though.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

So if i break my HF i will be spawned anywhere in the wilderness? Because that would be a solution even if i lose everything i own.
