few noob questions

hey just wanted to say this game is amazing.. very glad I found it. it scratches an old UO itch

Couple questions. Can you be killed while sleeping in a bed when logged off?

Can you travel to hearthfire when in combat? If not can you run long enough to get out of combat and port?

When you're offline your character doesn't exist in the game world, so it is impossible to be killed or attacked. There is an exception to this though, regarding criminals. If you commit a heinous criminal act (murder/battery/theft/vandalism) and someone tracks a scent from this crime, you are able to be summoned to your hearthfire even when you are offline. Once summoned, you can be attacked/killed as a regular playing character would. For this reason, most high level players and criminals make sure to hide their hearthfire deep within a house and walls, as to make it unable to be reached by rangers.

For your second question, you are unable to teleport while currently in combat (or aggroed by an animal/player). In order to run away from the threat, it is smart to have a drinkable water source on your character at most times (flask/waterskin/kuska). While running away you will drain stamina but drinking will quickly replenish it so that you can continue to run until you're out of range of the threat.

Thanks for the response. I just thought of another question. I was looking at the wiki for leather armor. It says it adds around 100HP and some defense value. When I weaar the armor my HP doesn't go up at all. Does it only effect the total of the blue bar when fighting or something?

that's a lie armor doesn't add shp or hhp.

Armor has its own HP.

If you mouseover an armor item, the tooltip should show you the current (remaining) HP of the armor item.
