Hungry, Lots of travel weariness, No food, What do I do?

Postby Scarikas » Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:28 am

Hey, I'm quite a newbie but I know the basics. I'm not advanced enough yet to attack, hunt, or anything like that. The only thing I've been doing to get food is fishing, but the only fishing spot is miles away and traveling back to my Hearth fire is giving me a bunch of weariness every time I go out fishing. I'm also bound to lose my hook at some point and I can't find any rabbits. Another question is, How can I find rabbits? What helps find rabbits?

So I'm kind've stuck and starving here. I just got hit by a bunch of fire ants and since I regenerate only in night time my health won't do me very good.
Any help will be thanked.

Also- Eating ant larvae is disgusting and doesn't fill much of my hunger bar.

You can still travel even when your weariness bar is full.

Does expl. help find rabbits?

No.

Best bet is to get on a boat and sail around looking for rabbits, or a big patch of grassland for apples/nuts. Be sure to turn on x ray to avoid death by raging beasts.

if you raise explore, you'll also find taproots, berries and chantrelles, which you can eat
if you raise it more you'll start finding wild windsown weeds (www) which will be the start of your farm. carrots and beets are usefull newbie foods, as they grow very fast and add perception, which makes it easier for you to find more herbs and such.

download the gilbertus client. you dont have to use xray if you think its cheating, but it also has a bigger screen, making it easier to find rabbits and such and to avoid boar and bear
Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.

If you are planning to be an active player you could try joining a village in the Dwarves & Thieves forum.
