Melee and mm for a ranger?

A few people have told me that its pretty much okay with sticking for melee and marksman for being a ranger.
I know that mm is an essential for ranging but is it okay if a person uses melee aswell instead of ua?

If you go melee, you have no defence without a shield. If you equip a shield, you can't equip a bow. Sure, you can switch equipment, but it's not really something you want to do mid-combat, as you need to focus your attention on the actual fighting.

But its still possible, just hard, right?
EDIT:I mean i could possibly use some kind of combination or macro or some shit on it, but that would be the last result.

It's possible, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Since you can't use a shield when with a bow shouldn't you skill up unarmed combat too, since that improves some maneuvers or moves?

Unfortunatly, my melee is pretty high about now so il take the risk of it.
Il try to make some quick selection script for a client or something that would help it.

you should also keep in mind that many moves and such still require UA, or at least get more effective with higher UA, so its not good to ignore it

Good luck trying to be useful with a bow which aren't even as useful in pvp anymore and without the help of maneuvers to be able to tank.

I have raised my UA, but its 1:2 of my melee.
It would be nice if this would be locked now.
