Hunting Boars

What is the ideal way and stats/gear to have when starting to hunt boars, and not just trapping them and killing from boats.

I've been hunting them since I had 100 UAC, ~90 Str with equipment and simple leather gear. As long as you keep the battle advantage you'll do fine.

I've been wanted to do UAC, just wasn't sure. Thanks for the advice.

I suggest you to go with a friend on the first time, or go with better gear, just to make sure you can handle it fine.

There's a combat guide sticked on this section of the forum that should help. http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6518. Here's my quick and dirty way of doing this at 70 UA. I recommend using at least leather armor when fighting anything.

Set Maneuver to Death or Glory and use Dash on the Boar. Set your move speed to run.
Set it slide afterwards until your defense is full.
When you get 6 IP, use flex to fill attack meter. Switch your maneuver to oaken stance. Fill your defense meter up
Use Dash to get IP to get and use Flex and slide to fill your meters.
Use Invocation of Skuld at 10 IP, do this until the scale is weighted towards your immensely. Keep in mind boars try to tip the scale to them as well.
Use Flex and punch when your attack bar is full and use bloodlust if their attack is low. Use Flex Oaken stance when it is high.
When you deplete the boar's defense, you will deal damage, at this stage use only 2 flex before punching instead of 4.
When the boar runs, just spam punches, no flexes at all.

I hunt boars at 31 UA.
I kill bears at 31 UA too.

I've killed a low level boar with
mm: 15
ua:14
str:15
sling q14

first shot from a boat till it ran, than chased it through a swamp for like 5 min punching it several times.was fun
