Does animal skeletons decay quickly?

Postby FerrusManus » Fri Feb 11, 2011 5:44 pm

I killed my first bear yesterday and after skinning and butchering it I decided to raise my survival a bit before collecting bones and teeth. However since it was already like 2 AM I put the bear skeleton aside for and went to sleep. When I woke however the skeleton was gone. Did it decayed or as was just plain robbed?

Well, either one's possible. For what it's worth I don't consider it "robbing" to collect bones of animals I see just lying around in the wilderness, since I assume the person just wanted the skin/meat/whatever, and abandoned the rest. (Or consider it robbing to skin/butcher animals entirely that I just see around, since I figure people are hunting them for the LP, or because of aggro, or whatever.)

No, skeleton was laying next to my house. Obviously if the bones're laying in the middle of the forest everyone's welcome to take them.
