Can a GM remove unused hearth fires?

A few friends and myself have started building a village. The only problem is the excess amount of unused hearth fires around it. There are no items near them, and none of us have ever seen the fire green. Is there a possibility of a GM removing the fires?

Buy vandalism and destroy them yourself?

Or claim them and destroy. BTW, there are no GMs in this game.
