Teapot Q and other non obvious Q questions

Postby Panopticon » Sun Feb 13, 2011 9:38 pm

Say, the wiki doesn't mention if teapot Q matters at all for tea. Or mugs. Can someone more experienced school me on the items and tools for which q does and does not matter? Does a high q scythe work faster? A high q shovel?

shovel, frying pan (not sure), fishing gear and scythe Q doesn't have anything to do with the Q of the outcome product. Neither does chicken coops or allyoing crucibles btw.

Pan q does matter, and fishing gear caps fish q. Scythe q matters for shearing, skinning and butchering, but most people just use a stone axe for that.

I was gonna make a thread for this but I guess I'll just post it here.

I know that wax/honey formulas are a wild mystery to all, but the wiki states that hive quality caps the quality of the materials produced by it. Is this actually true? Just today I harvested q28 wax from a hive that was constructed with q10 wood and ~q15 straw. Basically I'm just wondering if I should actually bother rebuilding all my 13 beehives now that I can actually make good quality materials, or if I shouldn't worry about it and hive quality doesn't really have a strong effect on the production.

Nobody knows. The hive works in mysterious ways.
