Iron deposit below

After 1,2l of rustroot i found an iron deposit and a sing +textbox appears, there was wrote "An Iron deposit are below"(or something like that). But when i right click on the sing i see something wrong, it says water well is that normal? can i build a mine near that zone or not?

go to build -> construction -> mine-hole.
build it where you prospected. screw the water well, get rid of that sign if you need to.

Was the well built before you arrived? If it was someone probably marked the area, wich means there is someone near that knows an iron mine exists there.
You have a few choices, either try to join them, build the mine first and place a personal claim+palizade, or walk away if you want no confrontation.

Ok, i claim the zone and start to build palisade and mine. The real probmel now is the hardenet leather.
Anyway, from a iron deposit i can extract only iron right?
