Stin and death

Hi there, I started playing this game yesterday and I love(d) it.

But then I died against a bear in some village and when I could play again the **** bear was still there so I decided to go back to the "Charter Stone", but now someone has built it in so noone can pass through the gate (I didn't build a hearth-fire since had no idea what to do). How are we supposed to get out of here now? Or is the only thing to do to make a new char? If it's the last one, be aware that a LOT of players will quit before even giving the game a chance.
I laugh in the face of danger, then I hide until it goes away.

This is a common griefing move to create a charter stone, leave it on, and just seal newbies inside. It's not nice at all and really causes people problems but your only means to escaping it will be to make a new character, sorry.

Oh well =( I hope they will make it in the future so that one can travel to another Charter stone or something... Or just make it impossible to build stuff in front of the gate =p

Wait, I think I'm wrong. I've never spawned on a charter stone so I don't know how they work exactly but I believe you don't have a hearthfire -- Will it let you log off and log back on in the wilderness at random?

If you have no hearthfire you should be able to spawn in the wilderness when you log in. Not sure if you used a Charter Stone to spawn in the first place, though.

Yeah I used the ladder when I started so I can't do that....new char now, started in the wilderness =p

So the charter stone acts as your hearthfire until you can build one of your own then. That is unfortunate and I wish you the best of luck in surviving in this world. If you find any more bears, kindly direct them towards me and I will gladly punch them to death for you.
