Swords and boats

Postby opensesam3 » Wed Feb 16, 2011 11:16 pm

Is it possible for someone wielding a sword to attack another whilst both are in boats, or not?

I ask because I was out foraging recently and some guy with swords started following me and trying to pull his boat up next to mine and block my path - I didn't feel like stopping to find out first-hand if he could kill me, but kept boating until he finally got bored and left.

I haven't done any PVP, so I'm unsure the details of what's possible - just curious :)

Personally I don't know the actual answer, but I don't believe so. The radius of the boat is large enough to where, even when docked, you cannot bring one right beside the other. Given that you can't melee someone / something through a fence which is even thinner, I don't suspect that you can engage in ship to ship combat.

You can't attack with sword, but you can destroy boats from boats, which may result in drowning.

you can also swim from boat to boat, and do combat if both are in the same boat
