Building a Mine Hole and having trouble. ~Solved~

Ok, so I prospected found a spot that has Iron Ore, so I try to build a Mine Hole on that spot but I keep getting a message saying "You can't Build that Here" or something to that effect. The Land is not claimed, There was no obstacles I could see. What am I doing wrong?

no it is not, I was told by a friend of mine not to pave it.

How come? I believe mine holes can only be built on paved ground.

My friend said that if I paved it the ore would disappear. I will pave it and see what happens.
