Client question. Any clients that make objects translucent?

Postby DeviateScaleCodpiece » Thu Feb 17, 2011 9:28 pm

Before you jump up and shout GILBERTUS, I'm looking for an option to make trees and other such objects merely partially see-through. Gilbertus' client while fine and dandy for making sure you don't get raped by boars, is beginning to be a downer on me while I play the game since I'm playing hearthling's adventures in outline land.

My immersions is being ruined! But yeah, it's putting me off quite a bit. I suppose I could just stick to the rivers and the like and leave the graphics on, but the number of times that said outlines have saved avatar's life from angry russians and boar alike is swiftly approaching the triple digits. Anyone know of a client that offers a % transparency setting? I'd like the best of both worlds if possible.

The Sodomites use a modified client that does just this (for houses/rocks at least, not sure about other objects). I dunno if you'll be able to get yourself a copy but someone might at least give you to code to accomplish it.

They just edited the client-side resource files.

How does it work? Does the client support alpha transparencies then?

the night system is most likely an alpha overlay.

You could go into Gilbertus´ code and look for the control + H function.
Then, copy the command to f.e. control + A(lpha) and follow the road control H lays down until you found the 'blit'/'draw' location.
On that location, edit the code's alpha.

Untested and never done, but that's how it works in my own game ^^
