Abandoned Claims

Is there anything that can be done about them?

If it is a village clam they can be taken over or broken if the authority is below 50k. If it is a personal claim, then those do not go away and the only way to get rid of them for a village to revoke the claim which may not be worth making the idol for unless it is on a good resource spot.

It's a personal claim, and sitting right on a cave entrance. It's only one of the basic sized claims, the original 5x5. It's been there for a week or so now, and no one's appeared near by it. It doesn't inhibit our entering the mine, but it makes closing it off to any invaders difficult.

If it's so small then build a wall around it. If that person's hearth isn't inside the mine then they'll have no way of entering or tracking your trespassing scents.

Their hearth isn't inside as I've scoured the mine. We're currently trying to think about how we can do the wall, as if this person randomly decides to show up a month down the road and expand their claim to take over our wall it won't be nice.

As far as I know you have to be able to touch the claim stake in order to expand the claim. (You can walk away afterwards but in order to bring up the initial dialogue you have to touch the stake)

Wall it in, destroy any hearthfires you find, and trespass through. If you're really worried, eventually establish a village in the area to remove the claim. The wall will prevent anyone from gathering your scents and it's unlikely that the person will be able to get to their claim again to expand it. It's likely an alt anyway, holding a resource for someone for a later date.
If the cave is worth it to you, then 4 bear teeth, 4 deer antlers, and 30k LP is cheap. So cheap it's worth scoffing at.

Would this "abandoned claim" be located somewhere a bit north from the center of the map, with there being a roundpole fence around the part of the cliff/hill where the cave is?
