We just finished our village claim, and 2 guys come up to us and just kill us...

I wanted to know the borders of the claim before placing the walls, so yes, seriously.
The claim has been up for less then 10 minutes...

I made a new alt, and bought all skills up to lawspeaking back.
Yet, I can't set myself as owner (not a citizen since nobody can make me one anymore...)

The system is in place so those two guys that just came up and killed you couldn't immediately steal your village claim. If you had made another person a member of your village and that person didn't get killed, he could immediately take the role of lawspeaker and keep the village going. Trust me, it's meant to be this way.

Which is unfortunate (for you). That is why it's best to have at least some form of defense up if you're going to be doing something costly like making a village idol.

Regardless of the borders of the village claim, as you can increase those easily.
