Do Griefers hit the same camp twice?

Postby DK114 » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:34 pm

Umm.... hi, this is the first time Im posting on this forum and I have a bit of a question.

My camp (a log cabin and one plot filled with wheat) was hit by griefers. The damage wasnt that bad, they ate a crate full of apples and left the apple cores in the crate. I actually found it kind of funny and they also took some rabbit fur I was drying.

My question is will they hit my camp again later when I may potentially have more valuable stuff?

This was unlikely "griefers" are more likely a random newbie who was starving and saw your free stuff. Do you have an actual claim up?

If you've got stuff sitting out in the open (claim or not) without some form of protection (a wall), then you're likely to get hit again, regardless if it's the same people or not.

Claim + Picket Fence = Wards off wandering newbie thieves
Claim + Palisade Wall = Wards off most raiders
Village + Claim + Brick Wall = Wards off anyone without a substantial set of balls

Claims are cheap, so are walls. It's never worth gambling on your region being "safe" because raiders, thieves, and explorers move through areas constantly. It's good that you got to experience this now with just some apples rather than later with fields of crops. I wish you the best and hope you decide Yeomanry is a worthwhile investment =)

Thanks for the advice though

It seems you're destined to fail at this game. Might as well save yourself some time and quit now.

Well good. I hope you find it enjoyable. But know that a claim is basically an essential part of the game, so I wouldn't shrug it off if you want to actually progress past the stages of wandering in the woods picking sticks.

lol actually that beginning part was so fun imo.... you know wondering if you are going to live or die and like being really happy if you randomly find blueberries but yeah Im sure Ill eventually claim my land but its just not a high priority, I guess Ill rely on human kindness for a while.

Given the decreased spawn rates of animals, including rabbits, it's no wonder that he feels the task is daunting. If possible, explore the surrounding area and see if you can't find grassland (really bright green), heath (yellow), or moor (purpleish full of flowers). Chickens and rabbits will spawn there for easy access to bone materials and meat.
