Decay and color change

Postby Fichina » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:38 pm

Does anyone know the specific thresholds when objects start to change color? I'm trying to gauge how far along I am on a wall destruction and it just went to the first stage of decay

Essentially, the darker red an object is the more decayed it is. Not every object goes through the same stages and when they take decay is varied randomly. Cupboards will never get red, for example, because they only have 1hp and thus explode if they ever decay. Walls have lots of hp and can last several weeks before reaching a dark red and decaying entirely.

Not really the question though.

I was asking if anyone knew that, like, light pink means 80% hp remaining and dark red means 20% hp remaining

I'm chipping down a wall 1 hp at a time from nearly full, so knowing my progress would be nice

Check the hourglass for percentage progress. I hope you noticed the level that it started at.

Nobody ever thought to use color when breaking something because of the hourglass. Color is meant to quickly indicate weak points or things that need attention.

what he means, if you trust yourself not to break it too fast, is to start destroying it. Youll get the hourglass which shows you how far the decay got. the redness is something that hasnt been researched. feel free to research it and post it in the wiki

Hum... I'm also using a battering ram, to break open my own palisade to add a new gate - I see no sort of hourglass though. Does this mean I'm not doing damage (I should be, according to the wiki), or what? o_O

-_- "you're also", noone else is using battering ram here.

Hourglass shows if you're breaking something by hand.

Oh, sorry, I guess I just automatically assumed the original poster was using a battering ram without thinking about it... wall destruction by hand sounds... yeah. Ow.
