Computer Help

Postby AntiBiotiK » Mon Feb 21, 2011 10:52 am

I recently found out about this game and I liked the idea, the concept and everything it is, cooperation and everything that needs to be applied in this game, so, I thought myself, why shouldn't I get it? I downloaded it, after of course getting the latest java software, and when it shows me the log in screen, it has an unbelievable lag, and I am sure it's computer lag. I logged in hoping it will move softer in game, but, surprise, it shows a black screen after logging in, nothing else.
This are my specs.
(It's an old computer sadly)

Intel Pentium III processor
864 MHz, 640 MB of RAM
Video card
RADEON 7000/ RADEON VE Family (Microsoft) [and that's all I can see :3]

So please, if you can help me, or at least tell me that my computer sucks, I will be happy and the only thing I can say it's THANKS :).

Thank you again.

EDIT : I can't seem to find the question and help thread so I will post here sorry.

I hate to say it but it may be your computer, I tried to play it on a pentium 4 computer which has 1GB of RAM, it didn't work at all. But that had quite a poor graphics card, i'm not sure how good yours is.

RADEON 7000 should be able to play it, not quite sure though.
Try making Virtual RAM, should fix the RAM issue (if any).

Did you try rebooting the computer?

I haven't try rebooting it, I have been putting it on stand by when I finish working on it, I will try that after this post, but I am not 100 % sure that it will work, I believe it's the video card. I mean, I don't know, judging from how to game looks I don't think I need a good card but since not even minecraft is not working...eer, I'm a little bit confused here. For example minecraft is not working but Half Life 2 is working, I don't have openGL though.
I'm still waiting for answers if you have anything new to say, if not, then sadly it's my computer :(

Well, don't bother just now - the server's down. Check the bottom of the Home page whenever you're about to do your testing, and see the status of the server to make sure it's up.

Actually, the graphics card is quite irrelevant to how the graphics look.
Minecraft is build in a certain way that provides the graphics.
If they'd go off of the 8-bit graphics, I doubt they have to change ANY code.
Therefore, an awfull-looking game can still ask more then an epic-looking game.

eh, its your computer for sure, if you can get it to work id deal with it. My pc sucky as it is, (more or less do to all the programming compilers I use and 3d modeling software) will crash every few mins (this is unless i close explorer.exe, my audio, and any background programs.) I just say deal with it. if you like the game its worth the hassle.
