Hunting loot: how do you get it home?

hello,

I'm a relative noob but have been working on marksman (45 atm) and have managed to kill boars and even a few bears. My problem is a single boar kill requires my entire inventory to haul back (using backpack) and a bear kill requires two full inventors. My boat can hold two lift-able containers but if I try to fast travel with something over my head the item doesn't come.

What are some of your techniques for hunting longer and not having to do 1 kill ^ return home over and over?

Lift the boat and use Adventuring->Travel->Teleport to Hearthfire. You only drop things if you use the relog-HF method.

Protip: When you don't have access to large chests, use tables to transport meat. Or bring a meatgrinder right away.

You can lift the bear corpse and store it in your boat. Then skin it and butcher when you're home.

Cool, thanks. I must have done something wrong when I tried to fast travel. So the only crappy part then is needing to slow walk back to the river with the boat over your head, but that probably beats multiple trips.

When i go sling hunting i always keep one straw basket (cause it's expendable) with stones in the boat and an other boat on my head. This way i can return with 3 or 4 bodies and whatever fits in my inv.

What's the difference between straw basket and f.e. crate? (besides crate being bigger and made of wood)

Straw basket is 16 tiles of storage; crate is 15; different materias.
