How do i fix this problem?

okay so i was wondering around my home and realized i had neighbors so i went over to say hello with no response i decided to go hom on my way i saw a fox and figured i try to kill it or capture it well that didnt work and now every so often a thorn in the foot icon appears up in the top left how can i fix it?

Wearing shoes will prevent "A Thorn In the Foot" debuff, but it won't fix it now that you've gotten it. I haven't gotten it in a looong time, but I think it will wear off eventually.
