Tea Seeds

I've dried many Weed but I've yet to encounter any Tea seeds of any quality.
Are they relatively rare, or am I simply unlucky?

Depends on your area of the world. Some seeds are rarer in certain areas. Try looking around for friendly villages nearby, as I'm sure they wouldn't mind sparing a couple tea seeds, or keep on trying with the WWWs.

I thought WWWs in a specific area give you specific seeds.

Like, one bit of land might have WWWs that give grape seeds but the one next to it gives carrot seeds.

its based on the terrain in a rather large area. Just find some different type of land to gather the seeds from, maybe you get lucky

My area has no pumpkins, hemp, or carrots. Fuckload of flax, though. Urgh.

since my area has mudflats, heath, forrest and grassland near, i got all seeds

Terrain type is irrelevant, it's all about coordinates.

so i need to travel >9000 tiles and hope to find someone to trade hemp and tobacco seeds... Looks like its worth it

100x100 Areas contain different seeds. So walk 100 tiles away and you'll probably find more variety.
