I was walking along and heard some combat noises followed by a loud CRUNCH. Perhaps someone died trying to fight an animal? I took a few more steps and discovered a dead fox lying in a pool of blood, but there was no one to be seen. It wasn't trapped or anything... it was just suddenly dead. Nobody came to collect it.
Over the past couple days, I've noticed that there are many fox skeletons in my area in random places. I just took the bones without thinking much about it before, but now I feel like something's strange... If someone was getting one last desperate shot with the sling in as the fox runs away, why would I hear combat noises? There weren't any chickens near the fox. And really, could a person succeed in killing that many foxes like that? There isn't much water around here and only one other person with a palisade in the area, so where are they even sniping from?
Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have some sort of explanation for this? The best I can come up with is that someone is hunting the foxes head on, but it's weird that they'd never collect the spoils and immediately warp away after killing it.
