Silkworm eggs storage time

Hi, I couldn't find an answer here, so... Do silkworm eggs die/decay/whatever if left in a container for a long time? The wiki says nothing about this but in W3 I had somehow lost my first batch of eggs left in a cupboard for a day. Maybe my neighbour thought they were useless and threw them out, just need to be sure.

Eggs don't die. Worms do though.
