Need help figuring out relative locations!

Postby noppa354 » Tue Feb 22, 2011 9:02 pm

I have a small camp set up by a river, no other people within a good distance, but I can't figure out how to tell other people my location if I HAVE NO REFERENCE POINT! I need to know so i can trade for food, which I currently have... erm... NONE of! Is there any good way to figure out my location for other people to come to? Do I just have to give people my HS or whatever so they can travel to me?

go to the main forum. go to the thread about "public resources"
its a sticky so easy to find
check H&H map
if you cant find where you are there, we wont find you and you should spent some actual time on develloping skills to find you food

While finding yourself on the world map is helpful, yes... I'd go with the "raise your skills to let you get food" thing. Because if you can't even get food, I can't imagine what you'd have to trade people to get food, and you'd have to be doing it a *lot*.

You seriously believe it's possible to find... ANYTHING on that map? It's a MESS! It uses GOOGLE MAPS!

Also, my problem lies in that the nearest food is FAR AWAY and may require theft to obtain, and the forest doesn't appear to be animal spawn-friendly. I have a fishing rod but there are no fishing spots around, I can't get numen points to pray for bread because the ancestors want things I can't get, I'm TOAST!

Most people won't trade food for q10 tree bark anyway. Being able to feed yourself is useful in this game, raise your exploration up a little bit and train foraging and you can live off edible taproots.

learn foraging, get exploration over 5, eat every taproot, blueberry, and chantrelle you see, travel further, there are lots of fish spots, and lots of grasslands.

Big note; Keeping yourself to just a small area will get you no where. Explore, or you will never advance in this game. People won't trade with you if you have nothing good trade with.

I forgot spindly taproots were edible, DERP! Problem solved, and yes I have explored FAR, taking items from unclaimed land, such as bones and fur, but rarely taking food because i don't want to make other people go hungry.
