sealed cave

Today I dug into a cave network without an exit, just lots of tunnels and no way out except the way I came. Didn't find a single cavemouth even after I mapped the entire thing.

In w3 I thought that every cave had an exit, if I could see a cave from another cave with no way in there was a way in from the surface somewhere else. I guess in this world there's caves generated without exits. Has anyone else found a place like this?

I have one near me, I had to dug around 20 tiles to get in. My neighbour only 1, but still, I think it was totally closed before that.
Edit : Mh, now that I think of it, I'm not so sure. I remember a 5th entrance, but don't remember in which part of the cave it is. I'll go check on the next prospecting trip.

This sounds really freaking cool, and gives me a lot of hope of tapping into underground caves filled with goblins and kobolds! >.>

I found a cave that was one tile big...its interesting but has no metals or anything.

Caves that are only one tile large cannot be mined in, so they're neat but useless.
