Stuck in the water. Wat do?

I logged out in a river in a boat and I logged back in and I'm stuck and can't move. I'm asking a friend to come pick me up in a boat, but before he wastes his time, would it be possible for me to hop into his boat when he drives by?

Note that I am able to move around a couple of square feet in the water as if I was in shallow water. This leads me to believe that it would work, but I want to make sure.

Return to hearthfire. Otherwise, just swim to the other shore, you'll be fine.

You could just port back to your Hearth Fire.

you should be able to hop in his boat. if not you can always teleport to hearthfire.

Hearth fire was deleted since I was relocating. Thanks for the input. We'll give it a shot.
