Simple question, how do I make one? I have purchased leatherworking and I thought any skills needed, all that shows up in my LW menu is bear cloak and hide cloak.

I don't personally recall having this issue because by the time my leather was ready to use I had most all the skills I wanted that required less than 1,000 LP each.
Sometimes the game is like that, you open up new recipes by learning seemingly non-related skills.
I DOUBT you need anything requiring over 1,000 LP to get backpack though.

I havent put anything into sewing, think thats the problem?

I have every other skill I could possibly imagine needing for it..

the wiki says all you need is leatherworking make sure you are going to the "Face" tab on your menu bar then to the "skills" tab find leather working and buy it. if you dont have it then go to this page

I already have leatherworking, I have any and all skills that I can imagine being neccessary, unless something like wheelmaking is needed lol.

I'm definitely using the right menu and everything, the only choices under the leatherworking submenu are bear cloak and hide cloak.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I notice on the wiki that Dexterity improves the skill, would low dex prevent me from having access to making a backpack?

Have you logged out since you bought leatherworking? I've noticed sometimes my skills get a bit weird if I haven't logged out between making changes.

Other than that, I'd just have to suggest starting to buy some of the other cheaper skills, seeing what they unlock, and if maybe one of the skills eventually opens up backpacks.

I'm 99% sure that I have leatherworking, do you get the lw submenu even without buying the skill? I will check once I can log in again, maybe i'm remembering wrong.

And for the record, you are saying animal husbandry is a prerequsite to get leatherworking? IS that new, I played a bit in the last world and I could have sworn I had it without animal husbandry.

You will have some Leatherworking without the skill, and yes it requires Animal Husbandry first. As far as I know, it has always been this way.
