Animal skeletons

Do they decay? On a claim, off a claim? Village claim?

Yes. Yes, yes. Yes. First the animal corpse will degrade into bones, then it will decay altogether. This will even occur if it's inside of a container such as a boat, wagon, or cart. The image will look as if it's still there but attempts to take it out will result in you getting nothing.

Actually I was wondering, just about how quickly does this happen? Around 8 hours or so I *think* I saw, but I'm not sure, and it'd be good to know if I'm ever on a long hunting trip or something, and it's shorter than I thought!

I've never gotten an exact time before, but it is between 6-8 hours.

I propose a taxidermy skill. How wicked would it be to have a stuffed bear in your village?

Sucks that bones decay. They shouldn't! I want to use some for decoration.

Wasn't there a thing with cellars and/or indoor locations that time doesn't pass if there's nobody inside? I believe it was a problem for indoor tanning tubs but can anyone confirm if it works with corpses too? It would be great :)

It occurs everywhere. Also from what I am aware of so far, it's 8 hours to become a skeleton and 24 hours for the skeleton to disappear.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

I once lost a bear indoors, only the skeleton remained, so nope, it still decays indoors.
