Dig Clay - Bug?

If i dig in shallow water nothing appears in my inventory. If i pick clay notes, i get the LP but nothing appears in my inventory. Am i doing something wrong, or is it a bug.

Technically you shouldn't be getting the LP for it if you stop digging as well as not getting any clay.

Same problem. I can dig clay in shallow water until i learn "pottery" skill (every new character). Character dig first item, it appear in inventory, then he stop dig. Every next attempt use stamina but have no result. When i found second type of clay (ball clay - first, acre clay - second), i also get 1 item and can't get more.
P.s. I'm apologize, my english is poor.

You've drained the node of all of its clay. It's not a bug.

I can dig 1 or 5 or dozens of clay, do 1 step away, learn pottery - and node will be depleted immediately?
Maybe i'm wrong, iI will try it again, with new char (4-th for this purpose).

If you were getting q10 clay, then yes. You no longer get any clay if the quality on the current tile drops under q10.
If not, you probably were "too tired to dig" and just missed the message.

Thanks, you was right. 4-th char get only 1 clay before pottery learned. Funny coincidence - it look like i'm learned pottery really when nodes depleted. Just in time.

the same happens to me, i piece of clay then no more, i suspected that it was merely depleted but after searching around there was no steelment within half an hour in any direction> but i could hae missed them maybe

Thats a thing, i had to find out myself. This post is older, i found the "trick". If you are searching for clay, you have to spam dig every 1-2 screens either near shore or in mudflats (orange area) If you dig into a claynode you will continue digging. If you stop after your first clay if its q10 then its nothing.

There are other ways to obtain clay. There is cave clay, which can be "picked" in caves and there is gray clay wich can be picked near the shore. If you are full nature you will sometimes pick these nodes and they appear empty.

Well that's weird for me too. On my first character when I dug for the first time I've found some clay, and couldn't find anymore. Didn't really care about it cause I had other things on my head.

Now I created a new character in which I took Pottery, and same thing happened - got one clay unit from mudflat and that's it. I got the "animation", lost some stamina, but nothing appeared in my inventory. I looked everywhere - couldnt get anymore clay out of huge mudflat area.. So I went to the river looking for clay, and still couldn't find any.
I'm pretty new to H&H, but I don't think it's normal,
