Tree planting question

Which 2 log tree grows the fastest? also when planting how much space do they need? ive heard 3x3 and 5x5. Thanks in advance

I believe it's either Willow or Fir but I don't know for sure. They only need to be about 3 tiles apart to not be stunted but make sure they're at least 6 tiles from your eastern most wall so that when they fall they don't get stuck in your bricks. Pain in the ass.
