One man villages

Postby Fichina » Fri Feb 25, 2011 4:37 pm

Some other villages are getting closer to claiming over my personal claim and I have the required skills/items to make a village. Is it a sane idea to do this or will the authority loss be too great to combat with just one player?

it can certainly be done, the question is how fast you can gain lp. if you're farming some large fields or having a lot of successful hunting trips you should be fine. eating a lot of int and charisma food will help too, as well as having gear like a merchant robe, bear tooth necklace, etc that add those stats

also are you playing every day or logging in twice a week, this is probably the biggest factor

I do a lot of mining. You only get authority from things you do on the claim itself or is it just anything done by villagers anywhere?

nope, anything a villager does anywhere that gains LP adds to authority

High intelligence and charisma can give you more Authority points than the LP you earn, lawspeakers robes are good for that. Plus you can always build a charter stone and recruit newbs.

Every real life day you're losing a total of 40k Authority and the key is to never drop below 50k Authority. You get authority based on your base LP gain, so people who are full traditional for whatever reason gain the same authority as someone who is full change. Int*Cha = % of base lp earned that the village also earns in Authority. So with something simple like 40 Cha and 40 Int, you're earning 1600%, or 16 points per 1 point of lp you earn. So every time you chip stone and earn base 5 lp, assuming you had 40*40, then you'd earn 80 Authority. It racks up fast and if you play daily, then maintaining your Authority if not improving it isn't difficult. Worst case scenario, recruit a buddy or two to play with you.

Mh, wiki says
Authority = RoundedDown (LP * sqrt (INT * CHA) / 10)

For authority gain. Is it wrong ?

Oh? That's new. I'm not actually entirely sure, I'll need to take a look at it and test it when I have a chance.
