How exactly are we supposed carry on with these new updates? Some very basic concerns have been raised. These include the ever present issue of a lack of trees that respawn or are plantable, the mining process has become even more difficult, and we dont know how your even supposed to build a very small 4x4 tile house. Is it even worth it?
Heh, I think you'll find most of us will respond to that with a resounding yes.
If challenge and instability get you down then playing an early alpha game like this is probably not for you. Spend some time talking to people though, you'll find most are pretty helpful and friendly and hopefully you'll start having more fun soon
I think you misinterpreted my concerns...I'm playing right now and haven't slowed down yet. I am with the bay12 community so its not a matter of "help" but rather a matter of playability...after all can you make a house for everyone when each cabin requires about 20 trees to make? I've been dying for an update...I'm just curious if it needs to be tweaked...and since it still is alpha i thought it was something that can be addressed openly.
Yes, we realize that the lack of replantable trees is becoming a major problem, and something that we'll have to remedy before too long. I just have yet to work out the details fully.

i like the idea of having to move along because we chopped down everything
and, if i may suggest, i think it would be great if it took a long time to grow new trees. wood, in my opinion, should be something you have to carefully manage.
That would no doubt seem like something that could stimulate the economy very well. Just have to be sure its not so scarce that people cant get it. Should fall under the category of cheap/common resource. I think it is one of the resources that could make the regional trade system very real...after all trees don't grow everywhere people decide to go.
