If you break combat with it at any point you lose the Exp you gained from fighting it. You only get Exp based on how much damaged / percentage of its health in the fight.

Peacing meaning breaking combat. Depends how you're killing it. On a boat, behind a palisade, toe-to-toe.

Yes, become stronger. Either fight it face to face like a man, or accept the fact that whipping stones at is is no where near as honorable not that there is anything wrong with that. bear fur is bear fur :p

If you learn how to trap a bear killing bears becomes a joke...but of course you will need to learn (not going to teach it, otherwise it would create way too much competition xD), and have the balls to get out of the boat and trap it while staying only a few feets away from him (without aggroing of course), its the best way to kill them with a bow...

Use a sling. They stay there like it doesn't hurt.

There is a search button or do you need to make a post to find that to?

In the future when you have a game related question please use the "How do I?" section. When you consider something to be a bug use the bug section. The Inn was definitely the wrong place for this.
