As far as I know, there isn't. If you can't find yourself on the world map, it could mean that the area you're in doesn't stand out very much, or it's in one of the unmapped sections. In either case, I'd suggest wandering until you find an area that is pretty recognizable, such as an intersection of several terrain types, or a lake.

Alright so try to memorize nearby mountains lakes and terrain, i mapped out the exact shape of my lake and looked for that, sometimes its a really obvious shape you can point out but other times you need more things to map out like nearby terrains and extra lakes and rivers.

I once got super lucky and i was living near a lake that looked like a X , so i had to look for that specific shape and 2 lakes later i found it, other times i had found a lake that looked very standard and found nothing, then mapped the nearby lakes which also looked the same...

do big scouting tours and remember lakes (and their shapes) as long with mountain positions
it might also help to get in contact with your neighbours

If you use one of the mapping clients, you could walk around a bit and then try uploading your set of maps. See here.
If everything goes well, the server will tell you the supergrid you are in while you are uploading.
The supergrids are named as follows:

This greatly narrows down the area you have to scan for terrain shapes.
Since there seems to be some demand, I could also have the server tell you a more precise location that can be used to find your exact location using the grid on Algeralith's map.

another good idea is when out exploring find out what villages are near by. If you are by a major one it might be on the map.

I highly advise against using the above map... It's very difficult to read considering I know exactly where I am on the HavenMap2 and still can't see myself on that one.

The point isn't to use that map to find where you're at, but to use the coordinate system as labeled on the map for letting others know about where you're at.

Personally, I'd just rater give friendly folks my exact coordinates as it shows on the algerith map.
