Do trolls appear when mining in caves? Because I get scared shitless when mining.

Bind a key to return to hearthfire, and hover over that thing like mad when your mining.

Or doing anything really. It's just good practice.

They don't appear on Layer 1, so top layer caves are 100% safe from trolls. Even lower levels it's rare to see trolls.
