return item to inventory?

Is there a hotkey to return an item you are holding with the cursor (e.g. a bucket or treepot or something) back to your inventory without having to aim and click to put it back manually? It's a minor thing, but it would be nicer than finding the spot in your inventory where it fits, then clicking, but missing because you're tired/stoned/distracted or whatever.

I don't believe there is, you'll have to set it down first to quick transfer it back into your inventory.
