Boat (or anything else) stuck in house.

Postby Arythazin » Thu Mar 03, 2011 4:44 am

I closed my client because I needed to quickly take off, and when I did this inside my house while carrying my boat, it seems to have appeared far in the black area where you can't really walk. Is there a way to fetch it, or is it doomed to being unreachable?

Edit: Adding a pic to show.

If you have a village claim extending over your house you can build a crossroad indoors and use it to teleport to the boat to pick it up.

Thanks. We are working on the village banners, so while I can't try it yet, I might be able to soon.

How would I use the crossroads to get to the boat however? As I understand, you can travel to and from crossroads, but will traveling under certain circumstances boot me off into the black area? Or are the crossroads used in another way to get there?

is that actually still possible after the fix?
i thought J&L had fixed that bug to prevent wall jumping exploits quite a while ago...

This is a fine point -- I am not aware if it's still possible to do this. If it has been fixed, then you're out of luck.

So did your proposed solution involve the 'Surround the crossroads with a bunch of hitboxes, see if you get teleported over all' bug? Just curious if that is what you meant.

Also, if that is what was proposed, then I really might be out of luck then.

No, just putting the crossroad next to the wall -- crossroads have a spawn radius of about 7 tiles in any direction. So by warping to it a few times, you used to be able to get into the walls like that for recovery. Whether or not this is still possible after the fix, I have no idea?

Ok, thank you. I'll see what happens when the village claim reaches me, and if it doesn't work then, then oh well.

just building a new boat is probably a lot less work.

Yeah, but I had two large chests in it, and about 30+ (quantity) 4-leaf clovers, bunch of other somewhat good forage-able stuff, and etc... Sure I could get those things back over time, but damn would I miss those two large chests.
